2022

GC32 Lagos Cup

The Lagos Cup is the first of two events in Portugal in 2022. Lagos has a strong sea breeze but flat water – perfect for foiling.

It is with great anticipation in 2022 that the GC32 teams return to one of their favourite venues: Riva del Garda, renowned for its flat water, big winds and its dramatic backdrop with the Dolomite mountains encircling it on three sides.

Mar Menor Cup

For the GC32 Racing Tour’s ninth season, its grand finale will see a return to Spain, but this time Mar Menor in early November. The outcome of the GC32 Mar Menor Cup will decide the overall winner of this the ninth season of the GC32 Racing Tour.

GC32 World Championship Villasimius

The 2021 GC32 World Championship takes place in Villasimius in southeastern Sardinia. This will only be the third time this title has been fought for since the GC32 was endorsed by World Sailing, making it the only ‘boat-sized’ foiling catamaran officially permitted to hold a World Championship.

GC32 Lagos Cup 2

The first two events of the new season for the World Sailing-approved high performance foiling catamarans are being held in the same venue to limit travel and simplify logistics complicated by the pandemic.

GC32 Oman Cup

Oman is to host the final and deciding event of the 2019 GC32 Racing Tour, especially with the Oman Air team well placed to secure the overall Tour title on home waters.

For its third event, the GC32 Racing Tour will once again visit Palma for 38th Copa del Rey MAPFRE, the Mediterranean’s most well established multi-class regatta.

GC32 World Championship 2019

Racing off Lagos takes place on the Atlantic, but the waters here are protected by Cape St Vincent, the southwestern tip of Europe, just 10km away. With sea breeze conditions and flat water, the GC32 World Championship should offer perfect foiling conditions.

For a third year, the GC32 Racing Tour will start in Italy, but this time in Villasimius on the southeasternmost tip of Sardinia.

2018

GC32 TPM Med Cup

The final showdown between the eight flying catamarans competing on the 2018 GC32 Racing Tour starts tomorrow off the Anse Tabarly-Plages du Mourillon in Toulon. The GC32 TPM Med Cup is supported by Toulon Provence Mediterranée and the city of Toulon.

GC32 Villasimius Cup

2018 will be the second occasion the GC32 Racing Tour has visited Villasimius at the southeasternmost tip of Sardinia. While some 50km to the west, Cagliari is well known in international sailing circles having previously hosted events for the TP52 and RC44 circuits and for being home to Luna Rossa’s America’s Cup challenge, Villasímius has been more of a secret Italians have liked to keep to keep to themselves.

37TH COPA DEL REY MAPFRE

The third event in 2018 sees the GC32s return to Spain once again to compete in one of the Mediterranean’s leading and most prestigious regattas, 37 Copa del Rey MAPFRE. Racing is held on the Bay of Palma, another of the world’s top regatta venues, renowned for its consistent sea breeze.

For its second event in 2018, the GC32 Racing Tour will visit a new venue and a new country! A favourite with famous explorer/sailors such as Vasco de Gama and more recently as a training venue for Olympic teams, Lagos is located on the Algarve coast of Portugal, just 10km away from the Cape St Vincent, the southwesternmost tip of Europe.
